Based on a statement by eetimes.com, HiSilicon might be keen on supplying chipsets to manufacturers other than Huawei. It seems that the Shenzhen HiSilicon branch will be responsible for supplying chips to Huawei, while the Shanghai HiSilicon branch will focus solely on the open market.

With all that said, there is no official news on how exactly this will affect non-Huawei devices which are equipped with the HiSilicon chipset. As far as we know, HiSilicon could be focusing more towards other products such as IoT, smart TVs, set-top-box and more. Would you be interested in owning a smartphone with a HiSilicon chipset?
