Have you ever heard of e-ink screens? If you’ve never heard about them, we bet you are familiar with e-book devices like the Amazon Kindle. Yes, the Amazon Kindle does use the type of screen mentioned. Now, it looks like we’re going to have the world’s first color e-ink screen smartphone being launched by HiSense soon. Let’s continue reading for more information!

The Hisense device was first showcased at CES 2020 earlier and is scheduled to be launched on 23rd April. It uses the latest colour printing technology to display 4096 colours. If you want to know why it is so special, it is because the device’s screen doesn’t emit light on its own. The screen actually depends on natural light imaging to display the content, which means that the users will no longer have to worry about blue light hurting their eyes. During the night, the device will also use its built-in warm front lights as a source of illumination.

Other than that, the device will feature ultra-low power consumption as well since the screen is not either a LED or LCD, not to mention it is said that the screen can continue to display content while the power is off. The Hisense device named Color Ink Reader will arrive soon with many different apps for content.
