What's a bank doing on Shopee? That's a good question and we are as curious as you are. Hong Leong Bank is the first Malaysian bank to appear on Shopee Mall and it seems to be activated at 9 AM today. Here's what you need to know about their products online.
Looking into their store in Shopee, there are only three products at the moment - Hong Leong Basic Savings Account, 3in1 Junior Account and a Pay&Save Account. Each cost just RM1 and surprisingly, many customers have already bought their products online (up to 120 and counting in total). It's also noted that each customer gets a free Shopee Voucher up to RM28 from each purchase.
It is understood that Hong Leong decided to open an online store so that their customers don't need to visit the branches during the MCO. This should work similarly to their online banking at their official website, except it comes with Shopee benefits. The bank also plans to add in more products in the future.
