As we're still fighting the pandemic, many of us would like to stay home and avoid going out as much as possible. With that said, we prefer to get things done online nowadays rather than exposing ourselves to unknowns. By acknowledging that, Hong Leong Bank has now become the first to allow customers to open a bank account online.
To do that, new customers can head to their preferred app store and download the new Apply@HLB app. After finished downloading, just follow the guided steps and you'll have a new bank account without physically visiting the bank. During the process, the app will require customers to provide information like IC number, phone number, type of account that customers want to open, and more. The app will also ask the customer to scan their faces in order to verify identification.
After sucessfully owning a Hong Leong Bank account, the app can be used to perform services such as transfer and payment. For the physical card, it will also be mailed to the customer's address after registration. It is worth mentioning that the online bank account opening service is only opened to customers who are 18 years of age or older and must comply with the regulations.
