Honor 10X has been renamed to Honor X10, expected to come with 5G and should launch in May 2020

When renders of a new Honor device came out last week, it felt like the typical leak or rumour that no one could verify yet. But it seems that Honor 10X will indeed be arriving sometime this year, just not with the moniker it's expected to. Recently, Honor confirmed that series is being renamed to the Honor X10.

Zhao Ming, President of Honor, announced this during the GMIC Live 2020 but did not explain why the change was made. It's also expected to be a 5G device that he claimed will set off a '5G storm' in China. Although that's a bit vague, we can surmise that the Honor X10 will most likely be a more affordable device so that more people can have access to 5G.

If that's true, we're expecting this device to come with the Kirin 820 5G chipset. The leaked render from before also shows that it will have a triple-cam setup at the back and a pop-up front camera. Also, it will most likely use a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Honor also revealed that there will be a product launch in May, which is when the Honor X10 series could be launched. With that said, what do think of Honor's decision to rename the series?
