If you're looking for a new entry-level smartphone for basic use, there's a new option for you to consider. Honor has unveiled an upgraded model to its entry-level Honor 8S smartphone today. It comes with slightly better tech specs and will be available starting from 22 August 2020 for RM429.

So, you're probably wondering what's different in the new model? In terms of tech specs, there are only two differences. The old Honor 8S model had just 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, but the new model comes with 3GB and 64GB of storage. It should be able to handle app multi-tasking better without constantly shutting them down for you and the extra storage is also a nice touch. Aside from that, it has the same 5.71-inch 720p Dewdrop display, 13MP main rear camera, and 3020mAh battery.

Another notable thing is that the upgraded Honor 8S, like the standard model, has access to Google Mobile Services. In other words, you'll have no problems using apps like the Google Play Store, Google Maps, and YouTube. It'll run on Android 9 though, so the software would be a bit outdated.

If you're interested, the upgraded model is available in Aurora Blue and Navy Blue. You can check the product store page for more details.
