As reported, Qualcomm is hosting its Snapdragon Summit this week and has unveiled the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The chip maker also listed companies launching devices with the chipset soon. One of them happens to be Honor, which confirmed its device yesterday.
At the Snapdragon Summit, Honor announced that the Honor Magic 7 series would be the company's first to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite. This flagship smartphone series will launch on 30 November 2024 in China. Honor also showcased a Moon Shadow Grey colour variant of what's believed to be the Honor Magic 7 Pro.
Based on what little can be seen from the photos, the Honor Magic 7 Pro differs from its predecessor in the camera module design and overall aesthetics. First, the rear camera module looks larger and takes up more space. That's likely because it's now a quad-cam setup instead of a triple-cam setup like the Honor Magic 6 Pro. In addition, the back now has a wavy design for the back cover instead of a flat colour.
While the front of the phone wasn't shown, we think it's the same type of curved screen as before. If you look at the photos, you'll see that the device's edges are the type found on a screen with curved sides and corners. This could mean an unchanged front design, with the long pill-shaped cut-out for two front cameras. Since the Honor Magic 6 Pro's display is already top-notch, we're not really expecting Honor to improve it in a meaningful way.
Honor also confirmed that the Honor Magic 7 series would feature an AI assistant. We hope to see more details in the next few days, so stay tuned to TechNave for further updates.
