What works in one region might not work in another, Tencent realised this the hard way with Honor of Kings. It launched in 2015 and an international version called Arena of Valor was on the cards. It flopped hard, but Tencent could make a comeback with a new game.

Tencent is aiming to bring Honor of Kings back to the global scene in a new form. Developed by its subsidiary, TiMi Studio Group, Honor of Kings: World is an open-world RPG based on the original Chinese MOBA game. It will be available on multiple platforms, though the developer didn't specify what it would be.

Set in a fantasy world with Chinese wuxia elements, Honor of Kings: World feels like an open-world action RPG with huge monsters to fight against. The trailer also had some combat gameplay from the perspective of a male swordsman, with a companion archer aiding from the side. This implies that the game would support co-op play, and it could be multiplayer co-op too.

Not much else is known about the game, but the concept is exciting enough that even Hideo Kojima is interested in it. But how about you, would you be getting this game when it launches? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
