Honor to announce gaming focused Honor Play Smartphone

Alongside the announcement of their revolutionary GPU Turbo Technology, Honor has launched the Honor Play which will be utilising the technology mentioned. The Honor Play will be heavily focused on the gaming performance as well as the gaming experience of the smartphone.

The phone will be priced at RMB1999(~RM1241) for the 4GB + 64GB variant and RMB2399(~RM1490) for the 6GB + 64GB variant. There will also be a limited edition Honor Play Cool Edition which will have a special designed back which will be going for RMB2499(~RM1552).

Honor Play standard edition

In terms of tech specs, the Honor Play will be running on a HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset, either 4GB of RAM and 64G of internal storage or 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage variant, dual 16MP + 2MP rear camera, 16MP front facing selfie camera, 6.3-inch display with a screen resolution of 1080x2340 pixels, and it powered by a 3750mAh non-removable battery.

To give a little detail about what is the GPU Turbo Technology, it allows the device to increase the efficiency of the Graphics Processing Unit allowing the smartphones to run intensive games more smoothly. According to Huawei and Honor, this feature allows the device to run up to 60% more efficient and also reduces the power consumption of the phones by up to 30% as well.
