How the Samsung Neo QLED 8K elevated The Legend of Zelda - Tears of the Kingdom gaming experience

In my Samsung 75" Neo QLED 8K QN800C smart TV review, I mentioned how it actually made my video gaming experience worthwhile. Even though I have already finished playing The Legend of Zelda - Tears of the Kingdom story, I still can't get enough of the game, so I decided to play it some more on the QN800C.

Before I go on about my gaming experience on the QN800C, let me share a bit about how I usually play my Zelda game on a 4K TV. My 4K TV runs the Nintendo Switch console just fine, and I don't really have much complaints about it. However, the Switch is a rather old gaming console with dated hardware and that's no secret. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it.

The water physics displayed on the TV was almost photorealistic

Enjoying the Northern Lights in the comfort of my home

So how did the QN800C elevate my gaming experience? Well, a couple of things. Among the most obvious features are the Neo Quantum HDR 8K Plus and AI Upscaling technology. These allow the graphics in the game to be greatly enhanced, making it stand out with colourful visuals. Most of the time, I just admired the scenery at various locations. Granted, the Switch can't support 8K, but you can play at 4K with a high refresh rate.

Of course, if you feel the colour contrast is too much for you, you can always set the picture mode quality to either Dynamic, Standard or Eco Mode. Speaking of modes, you can also use Game Mode, which has a few functions for users. Depending on which game, you may benefit from Game Motion Plus, Dynamic Black EQ, higher refresh rate and more.

I didn't really use Game Mode much. Despite that, my Zelda game ran so smoothly and the movement was superfluid. It may not be obvious to those who have never played it but trust me, I certainly felt a huge difference between playing it on the QN800C and my 4K TV. Can you imagine playing a PlayStation 5 game with it?

Needless to say, playing The Legend of Zelda - Tears of the Kingdom on the Samsung 75" Neo QLED 8K QN800C TV was bliss. I know I'll miss the TV when we return it, but the gaming experience will stay in my memories. If you want to know more about the TV, you can check out my full review right over here.

Watching live concerts on this TV was equally great

For your information, the Samsung 75" Neo QLED 8K QN800C TV is officially priced at RM22,699. That's a high price to pay. But it is a premium smart TV, after all, and should be able to last long. On top of that, watching movies and live shows are also visually pleasing on TV. You can also read how I actually enjoyed watching Taylor Swift's concert with the Samsung Q-Series Soundbar.
