As usual with their latest Huawei Mate 30 series, Huawei have also announced their Huawei Mate 30 RS Porsche Design in black and red premium leather. Offering nearly identical tech specs and features with the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, the Mate 30 RS Porsche Design comes with a Kirin 990 5G chipset, 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage more for 2095 euros (~RM9710).
While the Mate 30 Pro only offered 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage, all the other tech specs on the Mate 30 RS Porsche Design are the same including IP68 water and dust resistance, quad LEICA rear cameras with 40MP (SuperSensing Wide, OIS) + 40MP (Ultra-Wide Cine, the Mate 30 uses 16MP) + 8MP (telephoto, OIS) + a 3D Depth Sensing camera. It looks like this year there is a notch with a 32MP front camera and depth sensor.
All the other camera features such as bokeh mode for 4K video recording, the SuperSensing Cine camera's large 1/1.54 light sensor and an ISO up to 512000 are there. However, on top of the premium leather backside, the Mate 30 RS Porsche Design smartphone also offers a premium leather case, with a leather strap that slides up to become a stand.
Overall, the Huawei Mate 30 RS Porsche Design is fully future proofed even for the era of 5G in the years to come, so if you have the money and like the design then 2095 euros (~RM9710) hardly seems like a lot. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details, but euro prices have generally been higher than Malaysian prices so if it does come into Malaysia we expect that price tag to go down.
