As usual, whenever a new Huawei phone series is announced, DxOMark would always have the camera review on the next day before anyone else. And not surprisingly, the Mate 40 Pro is placed the first rank on the camera chart for the rear and front camera.

According to DxOMark's conclusion, they are impressed with the Mate 40 Pro's camera performance in a low-light environment particularly the wide dynamic range. For indoors and outdoors condition, the texture is quite clear and has lowered the number of noises in an image, this also includes on the phone's telephoto zooming capability. Video recording is also quite accurate in white balance and colour rendering, as well as stabilization mode. You can check out the images they took below.

On the other hand, the Mate 40 Pro is not without faults. On the cons, they noted that the ultrawide camera has quite a narrow field view and the telephoto zoom images are often out of focus. The video recording performance also encountered some problems, such as getting slight underexposure, variation in sharpness between frames, and occasional colour quantization (which means colour representation in the real world and digitally) and ghosting artefacts.

I don't know about you, but I think that some of the pros and cons contradict each other. But what do you think of the photo samples?
