While we're getting the Huawei Nova 3 launch in Malaysia tomorrow, Huawei officially announced the Nova 3 priced at 2990CNY(~RM1808) and Nova 3i starting from 1999CNY(~RM1205) today for China. Featuring flagship features like last year's Kirin 970 chipset with AI-driven functionality for the Nova 3, the midrange Kirin 710 chipset for the Nova 3i, notched fullHD full view displays, quad cameras and support for Huawei's upcoming GPU Turbo, the devices seem to be Huawei's answer for conquering the midrange.

Both the Nova 3 and Nova 3i look to offer two tone Huawei P20 Pro Twilight-like backsides, making them only the third series from Huawei to offer this design feature. Both offer quad cameras but the Nova 3 has 24MP+16MP dual rear cameras and 24MP+2MP dual front cameras while the Nova 3i offers 24MP + 2MP dual rear cameras and 16MP + 2MP dual front cameras.

Other tech specs include 6GB RAM + 128GB storage for the Nova 3 and a larger 3750 mAh battery along with a 9V/2A super charger. The Nova 3i offers 4GB RAM + 128GB storage and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage options which is priced at 2199CNY(~RM1326) but we expect the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage version to come to Malaysia if it does arrive. Both will support GPU Turbo and Huawei's new 3D Qmoji with the upcoming EMUI 8.1 update.

Available on pre-order in China, there's no exact news on Malaysia availability dates or pricing details, but we expect the Nova 3 to be around RM1749 while the Nova 3i could further shake up the market for RM1099. Aimed at the young and trendy, these new Huawei Nova smartphones should offer affordable options for those wanting a gaming cameraphone as Huawei gears up for its next batch of Kirin 980 flagships in the coming months.
