By now, you should have seen our Huawei Nova 3e hands-on video since yesterday (14 May) and yes, it's another Nova model that's coming soon to Malaysia. Also known as the P20 Lite in other regions, there's no official release date yet but we do have some hands-on pictures and specification information.
Coming with dual camera technologies with a monochrome sensor, a face unlock, AR lens and more, there's actually a reason behind the name Nova 3e. The 3e simply carry the meaning of three unique Es which are 'Excellent craftsmanship', 'Evolution of Fullview Display and photography', and 'Efficient user experience'.
Judging by the 3 Es moniker, the phone does stand by its name thanks to the round glass panels and shiny surface. According to the company, the body material is made of aviation-grade aluminium alloy and this really reminds us of the P10 Lite last year
Screen-to-body aspect ratio has increased as well and the with a 5.84-inch display is labelled as Fullview Display 2.0 for a better viewing experience
Of course, you have the 24MP front camera which is a first in the Nova family
Is that a microUSB port? Nope, it's USB Type-C! It has Fast Charging technology with 9V/2A capability
Overall, the phone is really compact and nice to hold
Infrarred sensor on top, by the way, we were told that that the Bluetooth connectivity can connect two devices at the same time
Lastly, the Nova 3e will be running on the latest EMUI 8.0 (based on Android 8.0 Oreo) out of the box which utilises the AI for speed and performance optimization. Below is the list of the tech-specs:
