Just when we thought there aren't going to be anymore Huawei P9 models, Huawei secretly announced the P9 Lite version just a few hours ago as a low-budget smartphone in Russia. Strangely, neither price nor availability was announced, but we do have some information on the tech-specs:-

  • Kirin 650 octa-core SoC
  • 2GB/3GB RAM
  • 16GB storage (expandable memory up to 128GB)
  • 5.2-inch 1080p IPS display
  • 13MP camera (LED flash) + 8MP front camera
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Supports 4G LTE, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C connectivity
  • Android 6 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1
  • 3000 mAh battery

Looking at the specifications, the gold and silver smartphone is a tad too similar to the Huawei P8 last year. But it's definitely an upgrade for having more battery power juice, a fingerprint sensor behind and having the latest OS out of the box. Also, it only has a single rear camera which makes sense since it's a low budget device.

That's all we got about P9 Lite, so stay tuned for its price and availability here at Technave.com!
