Huawei in partnership with Tencent, has conducted tests alongside smartphone vendors such as OPPO and VIVO, and has concluded that the upcoming HongMeng/Ark/Oak OS is about 60% faster, as compared to the Google Android OS based on results. While not much was known regarding the specifics of the tests, Huawei has been hard at work to accelerate the development of their very own operating system in the effort of reducing their reliance on US-made hardware and software.

Seeing how the upcoming Nova 5i was reported on TENAA to come with the Android 9.0 Pie, instead of their very own OS. We might end up seeing the new OS present in the upcoming Huawei P40 series smartphone, which is expected to be launched around the first or second quarter next year.
