In preparation for the Huawei Mate 50 series, it has been reported by insiders that the phones could be supporting satellite communications. Well, Huawei officially confirmed the rumour and released a teaser image about it. The translation reads - Signals transcend the ground and the communication is connected at all times.

Having satellite communication is kind of a big deal for a smartphone. This is because users would be able to provide emergency SMS services. In Huawei's case, the SMS services would be supported by the Beidou system, according to a Tianfeng International analyst.

It wasn't that long ago that Huawei submitted the patent for the satellite communication method and device on 26 August 2022. The patent has already been authorised and it will be just in time for the Huawei Mate 50 series that will debut on 6 September 2022 (tomorrow!).

In terms of the Mate 50 series, there are a couple of new features to be announced. Reports say that there could be a new image processor called XMAGE, alongside a 6-blade aperture lens for one of the rear cameras. The Mate 50e and Mate 50 series could be equipped with a Snapdragon 778G and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4G chipset respectively.

No time was given for the livestream but we will be keeping an eye for the official news tomorrow. Until then, stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
