Other than the foldable display, the secondary display is also one of the innovative designs that smartphone manufacturers can explore further. Earlier, we have seen smartphones like the Meizu Pro 7Yotaphone and Nubia X being launched with the feature. Now, it looks like Huawei might have a new smartphone with a secondary display as well after a patent filed by the company is spotted.

From the patent, the secondary display is placed at the back of the device under a camera module. Huawei will likely use it to display information such as time, date, weather and notifications just like what the Always-On-displays do. It is also mentioned that the screen can assist users to take selfies using the main camera for clearer results.

Unfortunately, the patent was actually filed by the company two years ago. In these two years, we haven't really heard much about a smartphone with secondary display from the Chinese tech giant. However, it would be nice if Huawei made this patent into a real device someday.
