Did Huawei really say that? Yes. In fact, this came from Richard Yu, the CEO of Huawei's Consumer Business Group just a few hours ago today at a conference, also with the fact that Huawei has managed to shipped more than 95 million smartphones during the first half of 2018.

"It's no question that we become the No.2 next year; in Q4 next year it's possible we become No.1," remarked Richard Yu. Just for showing the figures, in 2017 Huawei had shipped around 153 million smartphones and compared with the figures for 2018 so if Huawei keeps this up, analysts are forecasting that the company may exceed 200 million by the end of 2018. Should that happen, this will be an increase of 31% growth in shipments. In addition to that, Richard also mentioned that the company's wearables have a 147% growth increase during the first half of 2018 and they plan to add 10,000 more retail outlets globally.

According to IHS Markit and Strategy Analytics data, it was the first time that Apple got overtaken by Huawei in smartphone shipments in the second quarter of the year. Is there no stopping Huawei? There's only one way to find out, stay tuned for more Huawei news at TechNave.com.
