Nowadays, many of Huawei's smartphones either have a Qualcomm or MediaTek chipset. There are several reasons for that, but Kirin chipsets aren't as commonly used. But Kirin is still around and could launch a new chipset with the Huawei nova 12 series soon.

According to a source (via GSMArena), Huawei will unveil new Kirin 8 series chipsets at the end of 2023. While there weren't any exact details, it's rumoured the chipset would be the Kirin 830. The source also tagged the Huawei nova 12, so it can be assumed the chipset would debut with that series.

However, Huawei has a tendency to put different chipsets on different models. So, we can't confirm if the standard or Pro variant gets the Kirin 830. Also, note that the company could limit the models with this chipset to China due to lower production volume. In other words, the global variant of the phone might sport a Snapdragon chipset instead.

Regardless, it'll be interesting to see if Huawei can continue to improve its Kirin chipsets and make them relevant again. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave for more news.
