Today, Huawei has officially launched the nova 15 Max in Malaysia. Built around Huawei’s “Max Your Fun” philosophy, the nova 15 Max combines a large battery, premium display technology, AI-powered convenience features, and a stylish design language. Below are the details of the specs, price and availability.
The Largest Battery Ever in a Huawei Smartphone
The standout feature of the nova 15 Max is its massive 8,500mAh HUAWEI Super Battery, making it the largest battery capacity ever introduced in a Huawei smartphone. Huawei says the device is designed to support extended usage scenarios, including workdays, classes, gaming sessions, streaming, and social media browsing without frequent charging interruptions.

The company claims the battery can deliver up to 23 hours of continuous video playback while its Energy Booster Technology uses intelligent optimization algorithms to maximize usable battery capacity and improve efficiency. The device also supports reverse charging, allowing users to power accessories and compatible devices directly from the smartphone itself.
Other Tech Specs Highlights
Despite housing a large battery, the nova 15 Max maintains a relatively slim 7.98mm profile. Then there's a 6.84-inch OLED display, supporting a 120Hz intelligent refresh rate, peak brightness up to 4,000 nits, and 2,160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming technology aimed at reducing eye strain during extended usage. Huawei’s signature Star Ring camera module returns with a red accent ring.

Moreover, the primary camera on the nova 15 Max is powered by a 50MP RYYB Ultra Vision system. The smartphone also includes AI-powered photography features such as AI XD Portrait and AI Best Expression to improve portrait quality and help users capture better group photos.
AI Smart Controls and Other Features
In addition, the nova 15 Max introduces new AI-focused convenience features designed to streamline everyday interactions. One of the key additions is the X Button, which functions as a customizable shortcut key for launching frequently used apps and actions.
Users can assign shortcuts through double-tap or long-press gestures for quicker access to apps such as navigation tools, productivity applications, messaging platforms, and AI services. Huawei says the feature is designed to adapt to personal usage habits while reducing the number of steps needed to access commonly used functions.

The device also includes an integrated Privacy Centre and Security Centre, alongside an extra durable body, which has received SGS Premium Performance Mark Drop Resistance 5 Star certification for improved protection against accidental drops and impacts. Additional protection includes IP65 dust and water resistance, and Huawei also integrated Splash Touch and touch optimization features designed to maintain responsive controls even when hands are wet.
Lastly, audio performance is enhanced through symmetrical stereo speakers and a 90-degree ultrawide soundstage, while Volume Boost Mode further improves audio clarity when using the device in louder environments.
Pricing and Availability in Malaysia
The Huawei nova 15 Max is priced at RM1,699 in Malaysia, and is available in Blush Gold and Golden Black colour options. During the first sale promotion period, customers can purchase the device for RM1,499 through an RM200 instant rebate.
