Today, Huawei has unveiled a brand new nova 8 SE in China as advertised. Most of the tech specs and features that were leaked out before the launch turned out to be true as well, but there are two variants based on chipsets. The standard version is using a MediaTek Dimensity 800U, whereas the other sports a Dimensity 720 chipset.

But apart from the two chipsets, the rest of the tech specs and features are the same. Both models will still use 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage, same goes to the quad rear camera setup which consists of a 64MP (main) + 8MP (ultrawide) + 2MP (macro) + 2MP (depth). The 16MP front camera is hanging out on the 6.53-inch OLED display as a waterdrop notch.

For the battery, nova 8 SE packs a respectable 3800mAh battery capacity and supports 66W SuperCharge technology. This is probably the fastest charging speed for a mid-range tier smartphone right now. You can also find an in-display fingerprint scanner, and there are four colour options - silver, blue, black and the gradient sakura white.

In terms of pricing, the one with the Dimensity 720 chipset is 2599 Yuan (~RM1625) and the Dimensity 800U version cost 2699 Yuan (~RM1687). There's barely any difference between the two prices, it's also unknown if Huawei plans to import the nova 8 SE into Malaysia due to the lack of GMS. We will keep an eye out for it so stay tuned for more trending gadget news at TechNave.com.
