In light of an article that we have written last Friday regarding Facebook’s decision, of not allowing new Huawei and HONOR smartphones come with Facebook applications pre-installed. Huawei has given an official statement stating that “Facebook is a third-party application, and can be installed and used without any issue on HUAWEI devices.

That means that Facebook, and presumably all apps owned by the entity such as Instagram, WhatsApp, and the Facebook app itself is expected to work as per usual. However, the new batch of Huawei and consequently HONOR smartphones will not come with the aforementioned apps pre-installed and has to be downloaded manually via the Google Play store.

Based on our experience, the apps should still remain usable even after it stops receiving updates from the Google Play store after the 90-day grace period has been lifted. For more updates like this, stay tuned to TechNave.com.
