As reported before, Huawei Malaysia is set to introduce the new HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro, marking the return of the Mate Series to the Malaysian market three years after the launch of the HUAWEI Mate 50. Alongside the flagship smartphone, Huawei will also debut the HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 5, the HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2 in Green, and the HUAWEI FreeClip 2 Rose Gold edition, scheduled for 12 March 2026.
Recapping the Mate 80 Pro's Highlighted Features
The Mate 80 Pro features an advanced multi-focal camera architecture covering ultra-wide to telephoto macro photography, enabling smoother transitions across focal lengths and enhanced close-range detail capture.
Huawei’s enhanced True-to-Colour Camera System is designed to maintain accurate tonal balance across challenging lighting conditions, including mixed indoor lighting and strong backlight scenarios. The device also incorporates AI-powered tools such as AI Composition for real-time framing guidance, AI Remove for object removal, and AI Best Expression for optimising facial expressions in group shots.
Moreover, the Mate 80 Pro is reinforced with second-generation Kunlun Glass and an ultra-durable vegan fibre back panel aimed at improving resistance against drops, splashes, and daily wear. Huawei’s signature Dual Space Ring design also returns with refined symmetry and premium finishing, with colour options including Gold, Green, and Black.
Additionally, powering the device is a 5750mAh battery supporting 100W wired SuperCharge and 80W wireless SuperCharge. Thermal management is handled by Huawei’s SuperCool Dual Phase Change Heat Dissipation System, paired with the Ark Engine to maintain stable performance during intensive tasks and multitasking.
Expanded Audio and Wearable Ecosystem
The FreeBuds Pro 5 introduces a dual-drive acoustic system with support for high-resolution lossless transmission, and also features a dual-driver, dual-engine AI noise cancellation system designed to adapt dynamically to different environments. On the other hand, the WATCH Ultimate 2 in Green retains its diving and outdoor positioning, with additional golf-oriented features integrated into the experience. Meanwhile, the FreeClip 2 adds a Rose Gold edition, maintaining its open-ear design focused on comfort and secure fit.
Availability and Launch Promotions
Consumers will be able to secure the Mate 80 Pro through Huawei Experience Stores, the HUAWEI Official Website, HUAWEI Official Store on Shopee, HUAWEI Flagship Store on Lazada, and the HUAWEI Official TikTok Shop. Huawei is offering complimentary gifts worth up to RM2115 for early purchasers, including a MatePad 11.5, Huawei Premium Service, one year of Huawei Care+, three years of battery replacement coverage, two years of screen protector support, and a one-year APAC warranty.
