Huawei's next Mate series is most probably going to be called Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, to add on to that the company is also probably going to introduce a new HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset and speculations are point that it could show up at the IFA 2018 event in Germany. So what can we expect about the upcoming processor? Let's check it out below.

To start off, the Kirin 980's SoC is measured 7nm only and that's really tiny and good news. For basics, having a smaller process technology will consume less power and it will be clocking in at 2.8GHz. On to the CPU sector, it will include four Cortex A77 CPUs and four Cortex A55. The GPU Turbo Boost will most probably make its way too.

However, it does not guarantee that the Mate 20 series will have a long battery life per day, Huawei will integrate a lot of AI-powered features but this is where the Neural Processor Unit comes in, acting on its own to regulate the AI-powered features and it will be a second-generation, expecting to deliver 5 trillion calculations per watt. It's also worth mentioning that the Balong 765 will appear too, in case you've forgotten, it's the world's first chipset to support LTE Cat.19 entirely allowing download speeds up to 1.6Gbps.
