Huawei said we won't be seeing Harmony OS anytime soon this year

Back in early August, Huawei unveiled its own Harmony OS as an ecosystem to be used in all their devices in the future. Many Huawei fans and mobile users are quite curious about what it could bring to the table, but they will probably have to wait for a while because Huawei doesn't plan to release it this year.

How do we know? Well, not only it was already mentioned at the HUAWEI developer Conference 2019, but Vincent Yang, the Senior Vice President of Huawei just confirmed it again recently during his interview in New York this week saying "We want to maintain one standard, one ecosystem" for the time being. In other words, Harmony OS would serve as a Plan B should the US government continue to oppress Huawei by banning them from accessing Google services.

Initially, Google services are supposed to halt functioning for Huawei devices on 19 August 2019 but the ban has been lifted (again) and extended temporarily by the US Commerce Department for 90 days more. Although things may not look too favourable for Huawei, Mr Yang still think we won't be seeing Harmony OS anytime soon, but you never know.
