I can't afford Taylor Swift's concert tickets, so I watched it at home with the Samsung Q-Series Soundbar

Before I start - I would like to point out that I'm not a Swiftie (a term for Taylor Swift fans). But I certainly respect her as an amazing performer and artist. Taylor Swift is a household name that needs no introduction and Singapore happens to be one of the locations for The Eras Tour next year.

Buying a concert ticket costs up to RM5000. And I haven't even included flight, hotel/motel stay, or transportation expenses, which can potentially bust my wallet wide open. But there is an alternative - how about just staying at home and watching her concert tour with the Samsung Q-Series Soundbar HW-Q990C?

I may be cheating a bit, but as I mentioned earlier - I'm not a Swiftie, and there's no way I can watch her Eras Tour concert on the TV so soon. However, her Reputation Concert Tour event is actually available on Netflix. So to test the HW-Q990C further with Dolby Atmos Music, I decided to watch her 2-hour concert using the soundbar. I must say, I quite enjoyed myself thanks to the soundbar's sound quality.

Setting Surround Sound and Intelligent Mode on

The rear speakers are strategically placed behind me. All set!

Before getting started, it's important to set the TV and soundbar respectively to Intelligent and Surround Sound modes for the best music experience. With the 11.1.4-ch system and the two rear speakers, watching the Reputation Concert Tour was an immersive experience. The rear speakers did a good job of bringing out the thousands of Swiftie fans screaming, the fireworks popping off, solo music instrument playing and more.

In my HW-Q990C review, I mentioned how Samsung's Q-Symphony feature syncs with the soundbar. By combining both, these two products can better create a true surround sound experience because the Samsung TV can also utilise the soundbar's speakers.

(recommended to watch and listen to the videos with a headset, earbuds or speakers)

Overall, I really enjoyed watching the Reputations Concert Tour. For your reference, the Samsung Q-Series Soundbar HW-Q990C just cost RM6499. Albeit the premium price tag, I think it's worth the investment if you love watching a lot of TV at home in the long run. By the way, the concert looked great on the Samsung TV too. If you want to know more about that, click this link to check out how the Samsung Neo QLED 8K elevated my Legend of Zelda - Tears of the Kingdom gaming experience.
