This week, ILLEGEAR has officially unveiled its latest lineup of high-performance gaming laptops under the new CORE series, introducing both 15-inch and 18-inch models aimed at gamers and content creators who want desktop-level performance in a portable form factor. Built around the latest Intel processors and NVIDIA RTX 50 Series graphics, the new lineup positions itself as a premium performance-focused option in Malaysia’s custom gaming laptop market.
The CORE Series Tech Specs
At the core of the lineup are Intel HX-class processors, including options up to the Core i7-14650HX and Core i5-14450HX. These chips are designed for high sustained performance, with power configurations reaching up to 85W in higher-end variants. On the graphics side, the laptops can be configured with up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPUs. With up to 115W TGP, the system is built for higher frame rates, faster rendering, and improved visual fidelity.
The CORE series features high-performance displays designed for speed and clarity, with select models offering refresh rates up to 300Hz. Both 15-inch and 18-inch variants use 2.5K WQXGA panels with up to 500 nits of brightness. The 15-inch model focuses on 100% sRGB colour coverage, while the larger 18-inch version steps up to 100% DCI-P3 and Pantone calibration for more accurate colour work in professional creative environments.
To maintain performance under load, ILLEGEAR uses a triple-fan cooling system paired with heat pipe architecture to improve thermal stability during extended gaming or rendering sessions. Despite its performance focus, the CORE series includes a 99Wh battery and up to a 280W power adapter, allowing for both portability and sustained high-performance usage depending on workload demands.
Audio, Input and Connectivity Features
The laptops come equipped with Nahimic audio and dual amplified speakers, aimed at delivering more immersive sound for gaming and media consumption. Input features vary by model, with the higher-end 18-inch variant including a glass touchpad for smoother precision control. Meanwhile, the 15-inch models feature semi-transparent WASD and arrow keys with customizable lighting for gaming aesthetics. Connectivity includes USB 3.2, USB-C, HDMI 2.1, and Mini DisplayPort.
Pricing and Pre-Order Details
The CORE series starts from RM5599 for introductory pricing, with availability expected in June. Pre-orders are now open, with different bonus bundles depending on configuration. Early buyers of the base CORE 15 model receive upgrades such as additional storage, calibration services, peripherals, and bundled accessories. Higher-end XTREME variants include upgraded RAM and SSD capacity as part of their pre-order perks.
