The maximum charging power found on current commercial smartphones is 120W. Although it was impressive back in the day, it has become a mainstream feature, especially for Xiaomi devices. Now, it would be nice to see something that can spice up the smartphone charging game. According to the latest information from insiders, 2022 will be the year when we see devices with 200W fast charging, and they specifically mentioned that there should be at least two such devices.
One of the brands that could be among the first to launch a device with 200W charging is, of course, Xiaomi. The Chinese brand has been experimenting with the technology for a long while. Previously, it had demonstrated the HyperCharge to the public, proving that it is one step closer to a commercial launch. The devices that could be getting the battery feature are Xiaomi 12 or the Mix 5.
Besides Xiaomi, iQOO or realme might also strive to be the pioneers of the technology. Meanwhile, others such as vivo, OPPO and OnePlus could be taking the time to "perfect" other features before going to such high charging power. However, all of this is just speculation, so you can still expect the most unexpected.
