Instagram could feature a Discord-like Community chat feature

Along with the announcement of the Edits app that Instagram is developing for more in-depth photo and video editing, Instagram also appears to be developing a new feature where content creators can introduce built-in communities. That means their followers can chat with each other in one location, similar to the Discord app. So, what should you know about it?

For your information, this feature technically doesn't have a name yet, but it's called "Community Chat" and was shared by Alessandro Paluzzi on Threads, where up to 250 followers can be included in this group to chat with each other. This Community Chat function also appears to come with the ability to allow community owners to control content, and Instagram will also ensure that all platform rules are followed.

At this time, it is unknown when Instagram will introduce this feature. It appears to be under development and in the internal testing phase, and there are no plans to test it publicly. Hopefully, everything will be sorted out soon.
