Recently, it was shared that Instagram is considering developing a special application for television screens. Through it, the focus will be on video content, allowing users to continue following various video content published on Instagram, in the living room.
This may also indirectly position it as an alternative offering by Meta for television screens, compared to the offerings of YouTube TV and TikTok TV.
Touching on this as well, Instagram Head Adam Mosseri shared that they will look at the existing Instagram Reels content offering on television and are not interested in licensing any content or sporting events.
Moreover, Instagram recently shared that they have 3 billion monthly active users, and they certainly want to continue to increase their reach by offering on various other devices on the market.
