Back in January, Instagram introduced its subscription service for the creators to earn a profit through what they post on the social media platform. However, the subscriptions only covered minimal content, such as stories and live streams. Now, Instagram will be adding photos, videos, or Reels into the package, which is one of the most requested changes by the creators.
The subscription service is currently available only for US users. There are already features such as Subscriber Chats that allows creators to interact directly with their fans through chat groups that end in 24 hours. With the latest update, not only are photos, videos, and Reels able to be subscriber-only, but the platform has also added a new tab that stores all the exclusive content, which is called Subscriber Home.
Subscriptions Update

Subscriptions are a great way for creators to have a predictable income & for fans to get exclusive content from creators that they love.
This update includes:
- Subscriber Chats
- Subscriber Reels
- Subscriber Posts
- Subscriber Home pic.twitter.com/5PzDTcwn8d
Besides adding these new features, Instagram is also working on pushing the service onto the global stage. Unfortunately, it's still unknown when that might happen. The subscription can range from $0.99 (~RM4) to $99.99 (~RM444) per month for exclusive content in the US, not to mention that Instagram doesn't take any commission.
Do you hope for the feature to be available in Malaysia soon? Leave a comment to let us know, and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more tech reports.
