Many of you probably reach for your phones first thing in the morning to scroll through social media before starting your day. If you did that, then you probably saw the Instagram update where you scroll through your feed by swiping left instead of scrolling horizontally this morning, almost like Tinder.
Personally, I only saw the update on my account for 5 minutes before it was rolled back. The giant social media company tweeted out that the “update” was simply a bug. According to the company, the feature was supposed to be a test for a small number of users but a bug caused the test to go widespread to a larger than intended audience.
Due to a bug, some users saw a change to the way their feed appears today. We quickly fixed the issue and feed is back to normal. We apologize for any confusion.

Despite the statement, many users called the company out for 'backpedalling' and the hashtag #InstagramFail began trending on Twitter and a few threatening to delete their accounts.
