Meta-owned social media platform Instagram has announced that it will be making a few changes to the app’s navigation to make it easier for people to share and connect with their friends and interests. Interestingly, the refresh also meant the complete removal of the Shop tab which is currently part of Instagram’s main menu tabs.

On the platform’s official Help Centre page, Instagram clarified that while the Shop tab will be removed, users can still be able to set up and run their shops on the platform. The social media platform further reiterate that it will continue to invest in shopping experiences that provide the most value for people and businesses across feed, stories, reels, ads and more.

Besides that, Instagram also announced that as part of the refresh, the navigation bar at the bottom of the app will now have the shortcut for creating content in the centre and Reels to the right. All of this changes wil take place in February 2023.
