As you are well aware, the COVID-19 pandemic means that people can't gather any more. This means that we can't attend events and performances. As a result, people are turning to live streams to conduct their events. However, sometimes your live streams or uploaded content can be taken down if rules aren't followed, so Instagram is making sure that you'll be properly alerted.

Instagram has announced that it will now begin to send in-app notifications if you're violating copyright rules. When the app detects that you're streaming or uploading content with music that you can't use, an alert will pop-up on screen to notify you. Being alerted early should help prevent your videos from being taken down.

Besides that, Instagram has also updated its guidelines on the use of music in videos. For Stories, there are no limits if it's a recording of a live performance. However, videos with full-length music tracks are more likely to limited. Instagram also mentioned that your recorded video must have a visual component to it.

If you're a content creator that operate mostly on Facebook and Instagram, then these new guidelines will be relevant for you. With that said, have you run afoul of copyright strikes before? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
