Intel unveiled new 11th Gen Intel Core Mobile Processors and 5G technology for thin-and-light Windows laptops

With Computex 2021 hitting off, Intel proudly presented two new 11th Gen Intel Core Mobile Processors - the i7-1195G7 and i5-1155G7. These processors will be used for thin and light Windows-based laptops and not only that but a new and first 5G product, the Intel 5G Solution 5000 was also introduced alongside the processors.

According to Intel, the new 11th Gen Intel Core processor-based laptops can deliver up to 5GHz which increases 25% on overall application performance advantage. This means that the ISV optimisation is up to 8x faster transcoding and video editing is twice as fast as ever. Frame rate is also 2.7 higher than before.

On the other hand, the Intel 5G Solution 5000 is the company's first 5G M.2 solution with worldwide carrier certification which is capable of delivering nearly 5x speed increases over Intel Gigabit Long-Term Evolution (LTE) from anywhere. Intel apparently partnered with MediaTek on product definition, development, certification and support of 5G modem solutions for the next generation of PC experiences and Fibocom to supply 5G M.2 solutions (FM350-GL).

Over 60 laptops are expected to feature the Intel Core i7-1195G7 and Intel Core i5-1155G7 are expected by this holiday season. This includes Acer, ASUS, Lenovo and MSI in the upcoming summer holidays (August) and nearly 250 laptops will have it as well by this holiday season (December). Moreover, Acer, ASUS and HP are among the first OEMs expected this year to enable modern connected laptops with the Intel 5G Solution 5000 based on 11th Gen Intel Core U- and H-series processors.
