Iranian authorities have allowed WhatsApp and Google Play to be used in the country. Both apps were banned two years ago after they were used to organise anti-government demonstrations. The Supreme Council of Cyberspace voted to allow the apps to be used in what is seen as a move to ease some of the internet controls imposed on Iranians.
For your information, Facebook, X, YouTube and Telegram applications are still blocked. However, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Hosseini Khamenei still has access to his X account, which is quite active. Iranians who want to use all the blocked applications must use a VPN service. Through the internet blockade, information control and the dissemination of news from outside can be carried out.
We have yet to confirm the other details on the news. So, we should wait for more confirmation from the authorities. Hopefully, everything will be resolved soon.
