Is DJI developing a remote-controlled car with a camera?

Technology has helped make the movie-making process easier as the years went along. For example, instead of having a cameraman follow via helicopter, using drones to do the same thing is more cost-effective. Now, DJI could be developing another method for movie-makers to capture land shots in rough terrain.

According to DroneDJ, DJI has a new patent that reveals what seems to be a remote-controlled camera car. Like the flying drones the company is famous for, users can operate these from afar and make use of the camera attached to it. With this type of land drone, it's possible to capture action shots from a low angle on the ground. The patent also detailed four wheels that can supposedly turn 360-degrees, allowing it to handle a variety of terrain.

Also, DJI has another patent that details a camera that's attached to a gimbal with a removable frame. We're assuming that this is the camera that is to be secured to the land-based drone in development, which will then combine good stabilisation techniques to ensure that users can get clear footage.

It'll be interesting to see how this project pans out, but do you think a remote control car like this would be useful to you? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news like this.
