Is Samsung bringing back removable batteries?

Do you miss the days when you could just pop off the back cover of your phone and replace the battery? The phones of today have traded that flexibility for seamless phone bodies and water or dust resistance, but we may get that back in the future. A new rumour claims that Samsung could look to bring back removable batteries for some devices.

According to Sammobile, a newly discovered battery for Samsung is believed to be a removable one. This removable battery (EB-BA013ABY) has a decent capacity of 3000mAh and is meant for a device with the model number SM-A013F. But what device is this? Judging from the battery's max capacity, it's not a flagship device. In all likelihood, this SM-A013F is an entry-level model, possibly a lower-end Galaxy A series device.

The device is still in development, but Sammobile claims that there's some info on it already. Supposedly, it'll come in two variants with 16GB or 32GB internal storage, with the phone in black, blue, or red colours. The low internal storage suggests that this could indeed be an entry-level device.

Some of you may want to see removable batteries come back to mid-range devices, but it's not necessary these days thanks to power banks and fast-charging.
