Based on a statement by wabetainfo.com, it seems that it could be possible to share contact info via QR code on WhatsApp very soon. While there is no official information in regards to when the feature will be available to the public, a beta version of WhatsApp with the QR scanning feature is currently available starting from today onwards.
With that said, this new feature will make sharing contact information a much more efficient and painless experience for both parties. Furthermore, it is possible to revoke and generate a new QR code in the event that it gets sent to the wrong person.
