According to The Malay Mail, the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM) is implementing digital transformation through the MyeHALAL 2.0 system to accelerate, enhance transparency, and make the halal certification process more industry-friendly. That said, what should you know about it?

A more convenient method to track products, their materials and relevant data

For your information, the implementation of this system is expected to be carried out in the next few months. This system will utilise artificial intelligence (AI) technology and MyHALALINGREDIENTS, a database developed by JAKIM to store and organise information related to ingredients used in products, whether halal or not, for certification review purposes.

Thanks to this database, each application can be automatically reviewed based on existing information, thus making the entire process more systematic, transparent and efficient. In addition, JAKIM has also introduced a 'Whitelist' initiative for companies with a strong compliance record, thus enabling halal certification approval to be completed within a week.

Moreover, this move reaffirms JAKIM's commitment to improving efficiency and supporting the growth of the halal industry in Malaysia. The idea is clear, which is to remove the complexity of the halal certification process, thereby improving efficiency and benefiting the industry and consumers.
