When it comes to wireless devices, battery life can be a big concern. You don't want it to run out while on a long commute, for example, since that means you won't be able to enjoy audio for the duration of your trip. In comes the JBL Reflect Eternal, a new wireless headphone that runs on solar power.
JBL's new headphone is the result of a successful crowdfunding campaign, which began on 14th December 2019. In just 3 days, it has already reached and surpassed the funding goal. However, the campaign will continue to run till 14th January 2020 and you can still get one of these for yourself before the due date for 99 USD (~RM410).
But what is the Reflect Eternal all about? Like we've mentioned, it's JBL's new concept for supposedly unlimited listening. Strictly speaking, it's more like the impressive estimated playtime and special charging method allows you listen to it for hours on end. To do that, it uses a material called Powerfoyle (from Swedish company Exeger), which can gather direct and indirect light to use as a power source.

JBL claims that spending about 1.5 hours outdoors will be enough to give you about 68 hours of playtime. But this number could vary, depending on the lighting and your usage. And if you have to plug it in, a 15-min charge is supposed to be enough for 2 hours of playtime.
Currently, the product is in the prototype phase, so we don't have full details or tech specs aside from what's shown on the Indiegogo campaign page. The complete product is expected to start shipping in October 2020.
What do you think of this concept, do you fancy having to be outdoors to charge the headphone? Let us know what you think on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news like this.
