Recently, many customers of the online platform BJAK Sdn Bhd (BJAK) complained about additional charges and their road tax renewal not being updated on the Road Transport Department (JPJ) system. Well, JPJ today has addressed the issue via a statement, revealing that BJAK was never authorised by JPJ or the Transport Ministry to provide road tax renewal services.

In the statement, JPJ iterated that it views seriously the advertisement by BJAK on its website and social media accounts where the company claims to offer motor vehicle license (LKM) or road tax renewal online to the public. Furthermore, BJAK has also been advertising a “free road tax programme”.

JPJ refuted such claims, saying that the company is not authorised by JPJ or the Transport Ministry to offer road tax renewal services. The statement added that BJAK’s claims that its online road tax renewal service is “audited, legitimate and approved by JPJ” are not true and confusing the public.

JPJ further stressed that the department or the Transport Ministry has also never authorised BJAK to impose any extra fees that are currently charged to customers.

JPJ urged the public to renew their road tax only via the JPJ counter, kiosk, JPJ Mobile counter, MyJPJ app, JPJ public portal and JPJ business partners’ platforms (Pos Malaysia, MyEG and PUSPAKOM). It further advised the public to be more careful with any platforms that offer invalid road tax renewal services to avoid any fraud or losses.
