The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (K-KOMM) has announced that four more categories of B40 students are now eligible to get tablets under the PerantiSiswa Keluarga Malaysia programme. This was announced by its minister, Tan Sri Annuar Musa in Parliament earlier today.

The eligibility is now expanded to these four categories of B40 students:

  • Foundation programmes at public institutions of higher learning
  • Educations Ministry’s matriculation programme
  • Form six in schools under the Education Ministry
  • Vocational Colleges that offer diploma studies

According to Bernama, Annuar further revealed that these students can start applying for the PerantiSiswa tablet starting today until 30 September 2022. As we've reported before, the first batch of tablets will be distributed sometime this month after ongoing issues with the tender.

Previously, the free tablet programme is only eligible for B40 students attending full-time diploma programmes and advanced bachelor's degrees at IPTA and private higher education Institutions under the management of the Ministry of Education, polytechnic and community college students under the Education Ministry, students of the Institute of Teacher Education ( IPG) under the Education Ministry and students of the National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (ASWARA).
