When we talk about fast foods, the first thing that comes in mind will be either McDonald or KFC for their fried chickens and burgers. Today, KFC has announced that the company is trying to create the world’s first laboratory-produced chicken nuggets as part of the company’s future concept.

KFC will work with the Russian company 3D Bioprinting Solutions to develop and “print” chicken meat by using chicken cells and plant materials. In fact, the company will be providing the ingredients like breading and spices to the bioprinting form to replicate the signature KFC taste and texture of genuine chicken. The produced chicken nuggets will not be vegetarian but KFC will offer vegetarian options at some of its restaurants.

The company mentioned those bioprinted nuggets will be more environmentally friendly to produce than the standard chicken meat and cited the American Environmental Science and Technology Journal says it shows the benefits of growing meat from cells, reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, and energy consumption compared to traditional farming methods. KFC stated that the bioprinted nuggets will be available for final testing in Moscow this fall.

Either way, there’s still no official confirmation on when will the bioprinted nuggets be available for KFC customers but will you still be interested to try on these bioprinted nuggets or be able to accept it?
