The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) is set to announce some “good news” for mobile prepaid users in our country next week. Its Minister, Fahmi Fadzil asserted that the announcement will be made on Monday (17 April 2023).
However, Fahmi didn’t expressly reveal what the good news would entail. As reported by Bernama, the KKD Minister clarified that there are still things to iron out before an announcement can be made.
He added that KKD is currently discussing the matter with several major telco companies in our country. Given the timing’s proximity with the Hari Raya Aidlifitri celebrations, it is believed that the good news is in relation to some sort of free and discounted services during the festive period.
Previously, Fahmi’s predecessors had implemented free calls to all networks during Aidilfitri and if we have to guess, the announcement this Monday would be in a similar vein.
