Previously, we mentioned the hydrogen-powered trams in Sarawak. Today, the Minister of Transport, Anthony Loke confirms the first batch of automated Aerotrain could arrive in Malaysia soon. That said, what should you know about it?
According to the minister, the trains are currently under construction in Wuhu, China. The construction progress for the train has reached 90% completion. This is what Loke says about the train on Instagram:
"I am deeply concerned about the Aerotrain issue at KLIA, as it reflects on our nation's reputation. During my visit to China, I went to Wuhu, Anhui, to visit the factory where the new Aerotrain is being built. I received a briefing and was informed that the first set of the redesigned Aerotrain is nearly complete and is expected to be delivered to Malaysia next year”.
Moreover, the minister shares that this batch of Aerotrain features the same design as its predecessors. The difference? There are improvements in the space and seating for senior citizens. If everything goes smoothly, this could be a great addition to Malaysians nationwide.
