By now, most of you have heard the news about Kaodim closing down soon. The announcement just came last night about ceasing operations from 30 June 2022 onwards. Oddly, the FAQs page couldn't be loaded when we visited Kaodim's website but here's what we know that caused the business closing.

For the uninitiated, Kaodim is a local startup company that offers multiple services to Malaysians. This includes house cleaning, aircon servicing, household repairs, moving furniture, health and fitness, wedding services, office events, even pest control and many more. On paper, it is a pretty good business for Malaysians and it has been operating for 8 years. So what happened?

According to the co-founder and CEO of Kaodim, Choong Fui Yu, the pandemic period was to blame for the losses. It is understandable since everyone was forced to be at home. In turn, the pandemic affected Kaodim's operations and lack of manpower. Mr Choong also said that the recent inflation also contributed to the company's downfall.

On top of that, many Malaysians have also commented that Kaodim's service cost was higher than average. In fact, a few Malaysians and service providers also got in touch directly and avoided using Kaodim because it was faster and cost-efficient that way. Before closing Kaodim, Mr Choon said the company will also erase every single registered account and data after 30 June 2022. Moreover, Kaodim will honour all the staff with notice and severance payments.

Well, farewell Kaodim and it was a good ride. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
