In the entertainment industry, it has been announced by Warner Bros that a fourth instalment of the Matrix franchise (dubbed as Matrix 4 for now)is actually happening. That's not the only good news, Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are returning to reprise their roles after 16 years, as well as Lana Wachowski to direct, co-write and co-produce.
Besides from business point of view, why is Matrix 4 coming back? Didn't they end it in Matrix Revolutions? Well, if you actually understand what the movie is about, technically the movie didn't end there as it was already mentioned that there have been many versions within the Matrix system. According to Lana, she said that many of the themes in the Matrix are "even more relevant" in this modern era of artificial intelligence playing a significant role in our society.
“Many of the ideas Lilly and I explored 20 years ago about our reality are even more relevant now. I’m very happy to have these characters back in my life and grateful for another chance to work with my brilliant friends". said Lana
Personally, I don't really mind as long as it has a good story without too many confusing philosophies just as they did in the Reloaded and Revolution. It would be nice to see Laurence Fishburne and Hugo Weaving returning but we shall see. Production is set to start in early 2020 but what do you think?
