Today, at the CES 2017 event, LG has come up with their own voice recognition technology to compete with Google Home and Amazon Echo, introducing the Hub Robot, this cute robot was built to be "friendly, anthropomorphic design" and can interact with people and smart home devices in various ways.
Like the Google Home, Hub Robot can respond to any commands thanks to the Alexa voice recognition technology by Amazon. It has an interactive display showing information and images, play music, set alarms, provides weather updates, turning on smart home devices and so on. Not only that, it can even move around and express emotions by displaying a face on the screen, kind of like ASUS's Zenbo.
Speaking of being able to express itself, it can respond to the owners by using body language like nodding. By featuring facial recognition in the system, it even can recognise each family member and greet accordingly with customised greetings.
There's no pricing nor a release date of the adorable A.I., but we won't be surprised if it cost more than Google Home which is priced at $129 (around RM579) since it can move around and has digital facial expression.
